Pickled gherkins

Hi there!

Today we have a new challenge over at the Scrapbook Stamp Society challenge blog. This time the theme is Anything goes.

For my project I’ve used Sherri Ann Baldy IMG693. You can find it by clicking the image title.

This is another breath taking digital stamp from Sherri Ann Baldy. It is always so difficult to chose between them, but I always think about how many ways I can use the stamps I end up with. And I usually have ideas to at least two projects for the stamps I finally chose (I so ought to write my ideas down for each stamp, because I tend to forget, but who doesn’t?)

This stamp I thought would be so suitable for the late October season, where we often preserve our fruit and vegetables for the coming winter season. I’m not aware of any fairs in Denmark, where these preservations are entered in contests, but I believe it’s the case in both USA and England.

I had much fun colouring her, and I used the following Copic markers for the project:

Skin: E13, E11, E21, E00, E000, R20 and E04
Eyes: B18, B16 and B14
Hair: E15
Sleeve: YR18 and YR14
Scarf + Trousers: B28, B24, B32 and R27
Lid:  YR23 and E13
Gherkins: G17, YG17, G21 and YG00
Prize: Y15, YR14, R59 and R27

As always I like strong colours, so I’ve tried to mix the colours in my image to the colours of the cardboard used, and I think that went pretty well.

The red border is actually a left over die cut from when I’ve made two borders. Depending upon how you turn it and do it, you can get more than one border out of this border die. I love this way a lot.

The flowers are also a homemade experiment with cut out irons. I call these for water lilies, because when you bend the petals a bit upwards, they look exactly like water lilies.

I hope you like my card. Feel free to leave a message to let me know. Please join my blog if you would like to see my projects on a regular basis.

Halloween/autumn mode

Hi there,

I'm so in Halloween/autumn mode at the moment. I'm playing around the colours, digis and backgrounds.

The project I'm showing you today is the Wampire Witch by Scrappers Delight. It was a pleasure to colour her and she's been in my stack of finished images for a while now, so it was time to put her on a card.

I'm always afraid that I might run out of ideas on how to put my projects together, I mean, I don't want to make the same designs all the time. So, I was looking in my paper stacks and found this black cardstock and an idea popped into my head. I think I pulled it off, but I'll leave it to you to be the judge of that. But before I tell you all about it, I'll show you the project.

Last year I tried making my own embossing folders. Some of you might have seen them on facebook. Among them were this ghost embossing folder (and a witch embossing folder, which you'll see on a project at a later time, when I find the right image for it).

Well, the embossing folder is basically made of rather thick cereal boxes (cut to A5 size). Then I used my ghost punch and mod pudged all the ghosts onto it in a random pattern. Everything got another layer of mod pudge and left to dry. When it was dry, I found some black cardboard and ran it through my Double Do.

I was soo happy with the result, as I was a bit sceptical beforehand, whether it would be possible or not. Well, as you can see, it worked just fine.

Today my idea was to ink it up, as nobody has ever heard of black Halloween ghosts. I had a white ink pad, which I smeared all over the image - result: white ghosts.

I hope you like my project. Please leave a comment and if you want to follow my blog, please join it on top of the page or follow me on Google+

Until next time!

This was fun and relaxing

Hi there,

I have made my first A4 Zentangle or doodle project now. (I made an A6 size last week, which I showed on my FB wall). I'm not sure what the difference is between the Zentangle or doodle, but hopefully somebody will be kind enough to tell me.

Last night I was a bit restless, so I thought it would be fun to make something different than cards, and being part of a FB group called Adult Colouring World, in which some very kind artists share some of their images to colour, I found this beauty by Jane Levi.

Jane Levi is presently working on a colouring book, and has shown us some of the pages from it. I'm definitely going to buy that one, when it's published here in Denmark.

I gathered 3 matching copics from almost every colour of my markers, put them in a mug and for the first time ever, I sat on my sofa, coloured and watched TV at the same time. Didn't use all the colours though. WOW, I cannot believe that was possible, but let me assure you, it's not the last time, that's going to happen LOL.

Well, I'll not keep you in suspense any longer, here is the result of my colouring:

I loved the cross sections, which I coloured in red/white so it looks like the Danish Flag :-).

It was such fun to colour this (took a couple of hours), and I was amazed that I didn't get tired of having to turn the image all the time. Instead it felt like having used one colour, I couldn't wait to chose and use the next colour.

I'm definitely going to make this one again, and already have a colour idea for it spinning around in my head.

And now to see if I have a proper frame to put it in, so I'm signing off for now.

Be happy crafting!

Enter if you dare Boo

Hi there!

Today we have a new challenge over at the Scrapbook Stamp Society challenge blog. This time the theme is Anything goes – Halloween.

For my project I’ve used Sherri Ann Baldy Enter if you dare BOO. You can find it by clicking the image title.

There are so many awesome Halloween stamps in Sherri Ann Baldys range of digital stamps, and this is just one of them, and it was very hard choosing between the ones I have. .

I loved colouring these pumpkins, and who doesn’t love those girls reading a “scary” book? I tried to make the book look old and worn, and hope you too think I managed that.

I have used the following Copic markers for the project:

Skin: E13, E11, E21, E00, E000, R20 and E04
Eyes: E18, E15 and Y15
Eye lids: YR18
Pumpkin: R27, YR18, YR14, YR23 and Y15
Stems: G99 and YG95
Leaves: YG67, YG63 and YG03
Flowers:  YG30 and Y15
Right girl blouse, Bow and all hearts: RV69, R27 and R32
Left girl blouse:  V09, V06 and V04
Soles: C5, C3 and C1
Book: YG95 and E43

Since the image is rather big and my cards always are size 14,5 x 14,5 cm. there was not much room for anything but the image across the card. However, on the top and the bottom of the card, I had a little space to put something.

I had a gold Halloween sticker, which among other things had the words “Happy Halloween”, so I put one of these at the bottom centre. Sorry, I couldn’t get it to look like gold, when I took the photo. Maybe this is spooky enough! My stash also include a sheet of little ghosts, so I thought it appropriate to put some of them on the card for the BOO effect.  Finally a few black gems on the top to create some kind of balance in the project.

I hope you like my pumpkin girls. Feel free to leave a message to let me know.

Be Happy Crafting!

Challenge project for Fairy Ink FB group and The Crafty Addicts

Hi there!

I was invited to participate in the Fairy Ink FB group Halloween challenge and have chosen the Destiny Pumpkin as my entry. She was really fun to colour and put together.

I chose the autumn colours of green, orange and brown for this project and layered it up.

As embellishments I've used some of the die cuts, I made the other day, a few home made roses and a SimplyBStamps sentiment. Apart from that, I had a metal pot with a spoon (have no idea, where I got it, but might have been sitting on a present, I once got). So I imagined that she's cooking something, maybe pumpkin soup.

I hope you like her as much as I do.

And now to my next project, so I'm signing off again.

Be happy crafting!

I have also been encouraged to enter this project in this challenge:
I've also seen that the Crafty Addicts has a challenge, where I can put her:
