A very snowy Christmas

Hi there,

It's been a week since I've put something up here, but since this project was a birthday gift to one of my best friends, and she opened it (a bit early LOL) on Wednesday, I feel it's time to show it to you.

I took a deep breath before I started on it, determined to do as good as I could with my Faber Castell polychromos, and I think it fell out very nice. It's only my third FC project.

The project in question is of course the Create and Learn November Pencil class at Kit and Clowder. I'm so hooked on these classes, and they keep getting better and better.

I've had some problems with finding the right paper for the polychomos pencils, but this time I think I got it right - only problem is now, what to do, when I run out of it. I bought it in Germany in 2012 and it doesn't have a name. I only know it's 200g aquarelle paper and that it has a little tooth. Well, I know it'll be a while though before I run out of it, because I can get two images out of one sheet and I have just about 23 sheets. So, it's reserved for these classes only :-).

The image is called "A very snowy Christmas" hence the title on my post, featuring Wryn from Tiddly Inks, whom I love to colour, so it couldn't be better.

I do know that I forgot to colour in the snow, but that has been done later - and before my friend received it - and I do have a photo of it, but that's still in my camera.

It was really fun making this Christmas scene. It was a bit hard on my hands putting on the second layer, but a good massage of them afterwards helped.

It was also a bit of an eye opener, I've coloured with pencils since I was a little girl, and never had I thought to use them this way. What is really amazing to me is - among other things - that you can actually make pencil colourings like this look very much like it has been done with markers.

My colouring adventure is expanding all the time and I sooo love it.

Thanksgiving card

Hi there,

Today there is a new challenge over at the Scrapbook Stamp Society challenge blog. This time the theme is Thanksgiving/Fall.

For my project I’ve used Sherri Ann Baldy SCAN0002ThanksGivingMadeWithLove. You can find it by clicking the image title.

I had a big challenge when I coloured this image. My E18 ran out of ink just before I started on her hair, so I had to experiment with the hair colours before I found a nice replacement. I decided to go with the W markers. You’ll see the combination further down.

This stamp couldn’t be more perfect for the Thanksgiving theme. This is another American tradition we don’t do here in Denmark. However, we do have something pretty similar called “Mortens aften”, only we eat duck instead of turkey.

I had much fun colouring her when I overcame the hair colour challenge, and I used the following Copic markers for the project:

Skin: E13, E11, E21, E00, R20 and E04
Eyes: B18, B24 and B12
Hair: W7, W5 and W3
Turkey: E18 and E15
Leaf and berries: YG17, YG03 and BV13
Lettice: G17 and YG00
Dish: E43
Steam: B000 and R11
Nuts: E15 and E13
Leaves: YG17 and YG03
Blouse and Skirt: YR18, YR14, Y17, G99 and YG95
Apron: YG95
Socks: YG95, YR18 and Y17
Shoes: E18, E15 and E43

I have layered cardstock in autumn colours of brown, orange and green and have used big die cut leaves in similar colours. The sentiment is handwritten, which I think is quite obvious.
To finish off the project, I put on two big bronze/orange pearls.

I hope you like my card. Feel free to leave a message to let me know. Please join my blog if you would like to see my projects on a regular basis.

8.12.2015 - This images won the challenge mentioned below as no. 8 - whoo hoo!!!

October winner - Moonflower challenge

Hi There,

I totally forgot to show you the card that was one of the winners in the Moonflower October Challenge on FB. Since I'm recently having problems with badges taking priority over my photos of my cards, I'm not going to show badges until I find a solution to this major problem.

Gina Wampire was one of the first Moonflower digis I bought last year. And this is my second colouring of her. When I coloured her, my usual hair colours had dried out, so I had to chose alternative ones, and I think I did good with the greys.

I found a free image of a spooky house in the Adult Colouring World FB group and used that as background for her.

Gina Wampire by Moonflower

Since she's a wampire I imagine she's on the prowl for blood and expects to find it in the house HAHA. What an imagination I have, eh? I added a few decorative spiders and black and red pearls.

I enjoyed colouring her very much and added a few Molotow dots to her outfit.

That's all for me for now.

Pearls and lace challenge

Hi there!

Today we have a new challenge over at the Scrapbook Stamp Society challenge blog. This time the theme is Pearls and Laces/or Ribbons.

For my project I’ve used Sherri Ann Baldy Remix13 all grown up. You can find it by clicking the image title.

I looooved colouring this stamp. I think the theme implied romance, so this time I went with softer colours than I usually do. When I look at her, I get the feeling that she’s waiting for her boyfriend, so they can go to the prom together.

I used the following Copic markers for the project:

Skin: E13, E11, E21, E00, E000, R20 and E04
Eyes and hair: E18, E15 and E43
Skirt and other red parts: R22, R32 and R20
All blue parts: B14, B32 and B12
Leaves:  YG17 and YG03
Roses: YR18
Soles: C3

Her necklace are made with my white pearl pen, but I coloured the pearls with R22 first.

I’ve used a cute adhesive lace as borders. I have a few of those, and they can be quite useful when you get the right idea for them.

For the flowers I’ve used 2 pink flowers from my bought stash and the other four flowers I’ve made from a new die I got recently. I layered those, so they seem double and added pearls in matching colours – this can be a bit difficult to see on the photo – and some leaves as well.  And lastly a few strings of pearls .

Finally I put on a green die cut butterfly.

I hope you like my card. Feel free to leave a message to let me know. Please join my blog if you would like to see my projects on a regular basis.

GD at My Besties Friendship Challenge Blog

Hi there!

Today I am a Guest Designer over at My Besties Friendship challenge blog. My “Girl with a hat”, that I entered into the September challenge, won me this GD s pot.
For my GD project I’ve used Sherri Ann Baldy IMG310. You can find it by clicking the image title.

This is a really cute image from Sherri Ann Baldy. This girl is so adorable and I loved colouring her. The transparent skirt was a challenge, but I’m quite happy with the result. If you know of a little girl dancing, I’m sure she’d love to get a card with this image.

I had much fun colouring her, and I used the following Copic markers for the project:

Skin: E11, E21, E00, E000, R20 and E04
Eyes: B28, B24 and B12
Hair: E15, E13 and Y21
Skirt: RV63 and RV10
Bows and shoes: RV55, RV63 and RV10
Dots on blouse: RV55
Blouse and bow on her arm: YG03 and YG00
Rose: R27 and R10
Leaves: YG63 and YG03

What I always find difficult is to put the image on a card. Do I put too little or too much embellishment on? It’s always my fear that my cards are too simple, because I like that there’s not too much on to take the attention away from the image itself. And I’m not too good to layering, I think, but I hope I pulled it off this time.

As background I’ve used a pink die cut from a Marianne die as well as light green and dark green card stock. I have used two different kinds of pink flowers – I’ve been told by a friend that I should always put them on in uneven numbers – so there’s one big and two small flowers on opposite corners of the card. To balance them, I’ve put one big and two smaller pearls on the other opposite corners.

I hope you like my card. Feel free to leave a message to let me know. Please join my blog if you would like to see my projects on a regular basis.

Goodbye Halloween

Hi there,

Yesterday, October 31st, was Halloween night, so it's a bit sad that this will be the last Halloween card I'm going to show in 2015. I do have a couple more, some shown on Facebook and some nowhere yet, but I'll show them next year and then we can see, if my colouring has progressed and if it has, they'll just go into my colouring journal.

This image is from the a very great designer, Ching Chou Kuik and I love her images and have made a few of them by now. It's called "Night at the Pumpkin Patch". The sentiment is from Scrappers Delights.

I loved colouring her. She has a rather sad expression, but then who wouldn't, if you were sitting in a pumpkin patch on Halloween night waiting for something to happen LOL.

I'm really proud of how her dress and sleeves turned out. I think it's some of my best colouring till now. I distressed the sky behind her and added a C3 grey shadow around her and the pumpkins.

On the card I put some decorative black tissue for effect and to finish the card I added two punched flowers with a pearl in the centre. I felt the image didn't need a lot of embellishments.

I hope you like her. Please leave a message below or if you want to follow my blog, you can sign on at the top or on google+.
