Spring colouring contest

Hi there,

I'm back already! Well, there's a reason for that. I downloaded a free image from Jade Dragonne which is for the Cutie Pie Spring colouring Contest 2015 in her FB Group.

I hope I can manage to turn her the right way in here, because when I uploaded her on Facebook, she unintentionally came out sideways, and was impossible to correct. Here goes, fingers crossed:

Yeah! I did it!

Well, She was really fun to colour but it was very difficult to decide which colours to use. As you see, I went for a grey/purple/pink colour scale adding a touch of blue, and I think it went very well.

The candy I've used? There's a fun story about that. About two weeks ago I saw a discussion in Kit and Clowder regarding home made candy. It is actually melted HAMA Pearls! Who would have thought that kids toys could be used for grown up card making LOL.

Here's the description on how to make them:

You put HAMA Pearls on a piece of baking paper hole side upwards. Put the Pearls into a preheated oven at 200 degrees C and in my oven it takes 32 minutes to melt. You'll probably have to try your way. I did 5 min at the time. Some pearls melt better than others, but when the majority of your pearls have melted, take them out and let them cool down before taking them off the paper. It's quite funny, easy and they have the exact rounded shape of other candy.

I bet the HAMA manufacturer will experience a boom in sales over the next years - not knowing what happened when this becomes common knowledge LOL.

To my project I also added some of my home made roses in matching colours. I just made a new bunch, but will have to make more shortly, because I use them a lot.

I hope you like my Cutie Pie.

Be happy crafting!

Gym image

Hi there,

OMG time is flying so fast. I just realized that it's been a while since I've been in here uploading a project. Well, this changes right now!

Today I'm going to show you a really fun - if you know me - image by The Eastwind called Kai0003. I am taking physiotherapy lessons every week to strengthen my back, which is very week, and one of our exercises is just like on this image. I am having problems though reaching so far back and so are some of my fellow "sufferers" at the class. Must be so fun looking at us from the outside.

The image participated in a membership celebration in the Crafting Kimmies FB Group some time back and I had to add an animal to enter it. To follow her sight, it had to be a spider of course.

I'm really proud of my colouring of her (both skin/hair and clothes). This is the first image where I myself could really see my progress from the colouring classes at Kit and Clowder.

If you want to get real depth in your colouring, go join the online classes at Kit and Clowder, it really does pay off to learn colouring the right way.

This is it for now. I have a lot on my programme in the future. Just finished clothes class and I will bury myself in the Animal class now. At the same time, I'm trying to make a colouring journal, which is quite a lot of work. And I have a few projects for special days in my family as well, which I cannot show you until these days have passed.

I will try to pop in and leave a message or a photo shown on FB but not in here, while I carry on my colouring lessons.

Have fun crafting!

Breena Fairy

Hi there,

I've discovered that lately I've uploaded my projects to Facebook and forgotten to put them in here.

That's going to change. I'll try to upload here and then post a message on Facebook, so I get more traffice on my blog.

This project was uploaded to Facebook yesterday late afternoon.

I've used the Breena Fairy from Scrappers Delights and a sentiment from the Sheri Lotus digi by Simply B. Stamps.

I've coloured her with my Promarkers (hair with Copics) and added  a Little glitter in the circles on her wings and one the bigger letters of the sentiment. It's difficult to see that on the photo though.

I made the roses myself to match the colouring and the papers in the same nuances, added cut-out leaves and finally put on some red pearls.

I hope you like her.

Have fun crafting!

Project for my sister

Hi there,

Some of you might already have seen this project on Facebook, but I'd like to put it in here too.

Earlier this week I made this cover page for my little sisters choir binder. She has an overall black choir binder with all her music in, and I thought I'd make it a bit festive for her, and asked if I could colour something for her cover.

I came up with this:

I found a note sheet on the internet and used that for my base (very appropriate, I thought). Using WordArt I added the text at the top and at the bottom of the page.

The notes are from a die my friend, Susanne, has.

I've used the digi stamp called "CorinneCallaLilly" by Simply B Stamps. I love this stamp, but miss a suitable male image to go with her, as it's a mixed choir, my sister's in.

I've multiplied the digi, mirror imaged her and multiplied that as well. The lineup sort of just happened by itself.

I had to convert the digi into a png.file, which I did in my Xara programme (Thanks for telling me that was possible, Linda Williams) and I was then able to layer the digi this way.

Everything is on one page and only the notes are 3D.

I didn't know at first whether to colour the dresses in one colour only, in three colours (matching right and left) or each digi in her own colour. So practise wise I'm glad I chose the latter just to experiment with the colours.

I've used a mixture of Promarkers and Copics for the digis and finished with a White Derwent pencil as final highlight on the dresses.

Colours used:

Hair: E118. E15, E13, E11, Y21 and YR23 in various combinations
Skin: Spice, Coral, Sunkissed Pink, Satin, Sand dune and Soft Peach
Purple dress: Black, V09, V06,  V04, V01 and V000
Green dress: Black, Olive green, Moss, Lime Green, and Lime Zest
Blue dress: Black, Midnight Blue, Indigo Blue, True Blue and Sky Blue
Brown dress: Black, E18, Burnt Sienna, E15, Cinnamon and Tan
Teal dress: Black, Marine, Turquoise, Frosted Jade and Oasis
Red dress: Black, Burgundy, Crimson, Berry Red and Lipstick Red

I'm totally overwhelmed by all the nice comments this project has received on Facebook, and I want to give credit to the "Skin and Hair" & the "Clothes" class by Alyce Keegan of Kit and Clowder. If it wasn't for these classes, I'd never have been able to colour this project.

I hope you like it too, and please, feel free to leave a message here.

Be happy crafting!  (I know I am)

3rd Birthday

Hi there,

Time to show you a new Card.

Yesterday I was a guest at my grand niece, Freyjas 3rd birthday, and I want to show you the Card I made for her.

The story behind this card is, that when my whole family spent Christmas together this year, I looked after her one afternoon, and we had such fun together. Apart from reading stories for her, taking her for a walk and playing on her "Freyja pad" i.e. her Ipad, this cute little girl was really easy to entertain - just give her some bubbles to blow, and she'd have been entertained all day.

When I got back home, I was soo lucky to stumble over this stamp at Whimsy Stamps webshop "Maya blowing bubbles" and it was just like seing her blow her bubbles - or as she said "blubbles", so I simply had to buy this stamp and use it on her 3rd birthday card.

When she opened the envelope she said "Ooooh, that's nice" and when she also hugged the presents (boxes of Lego given jointly with family) that completely melted my Heart.

I should have mispelled the word on the bottle, but I completely forgot that till it was too late.
I added a row of Danish flags and a foam number "3" to the card. The stamp is mounted on a piece of grey cardstock, which I distressed with red.

I'm sorry that the photo is dark, but that's due to the dark weather on the day I took it..

I hope you liked my card for Freyja as much as she did :-).

Have fun crafting!
